If you’ve been following on with Museum of Magic, the first piece of the puzzle has been solved and the first leg of the journey has been taking. But I have to confess, my favorite things are the secrets that still remain…
Click here for a bonus behind-the-scenes about writing the curses and researching this magical story! This post is available for everyone and free to read, giving you a little sample of the type of content on my Patreon (which also includes the weekly episodes of the story, weekly writing advice posts, and the full content of all my serialized novels.)

I have loved writing this story alongside you all. For readers on Patreon, you get special behind-the-scenes background on the research and style choices, plus votes on how the story goes. Voting this month meant that the main character Emmi decided not to trust the chaos agent Puck…but also that they totally kissed after a pretty emotional scene. Untrustworthy kissing, I have to say, is among the best kind, at least fictionally!
And Amazon readers get to join in on the Crown Club, where they get weekly emails that include some of the extra content! Both Crown Club members and Patreon members also get entered in weekly drawings of prizes that range from gift cards to signed books, and in April, every single person signed up is getting something in the mail!
I’ve been working towards this for ages but had some delays at the printer. At the very least, you’ll be getting a signed book card (a preview of which is visibly in this “day in the life of a writer” video I recently posted), but others are going to get signed books, DND-themed candy, complete dice sets, gift cards, and more. I’ve got my label maker ready and tons of envelopes stuffed, and I’ll be slapping random labels on all the different envelopes to go out to every single member of the Crown Club! If you’ve not joined before, now’s a great time to get in on it!
Of course, I’ve been deep at work on my latest novel, releasing mid-August of this year!!
The Princess and the Scoundrel is the Star Wars novels of my dreams! It follows Han and Leia from their marriage (and the surprise guests at their wedding) all the way through their first adventure as a married couple.
I can’t tell you much about it yet—but I can say that you’re able to buy signed copies of this book through my local independent bookstores! I’m also going to work to sneak in some extra something as well, but no word yet on that officially happening.
Both of these stores will ship internationally. You can include in the order notes if you’d like any special addition to the signature—I’m happy to personalize or otherwise make the book special for you!
What I’m working on now…
Museum of Magic, a YA fantasy with witches and witch bottles, a new chapter every week. Available on Patreon and Kindle Vella. (Current word count: 31,000)
The Princess and the Scoundrel, done with just a few minor copy edits to finish up!
Secret adult science fiction project 2: currently drafting: 65,000 words written, plot fully outlined. I’m almost at the sexy bit and it’s intimidating. #avoidance
YA historical co-written fantasy: 🤐…but this will be announced soon
Adult historical novel, on sub to editors (completed)
Beyond these, I’m still teaching at SNHU in their MFA program, and I’m also doing Wordsmith Workshops and Critiques! Join us for Word Lab if you’d like to work alongside me on this myriad of projects!
I’ve taken off the paranormal project I’d been toying with, but I’m also tinkering with some different ideas for the future…
I know your Star Wars news has been out for a little minute...but I'm still so freaking excited for you!!!
Beth, will you be doing any live signings for The Princess and The Scoundrel?
